Harvest of the Century Rice: Rice Planting Completed
Rice planting at Kimoto Farm
This year, we also planted rice at Kimoto Farm in Inabe City, Mie Prefecture, where the production base is located inMie Plant.
In addition to Minori no Hyakunenmai (Koshihikari), we also cultivate a small amount of Kinuhikari, a light and easy-to-eat rice with less stickiness and a mild aroma, and Kinumusume, which is characterized by its excellent whiteness, luster, and stickiness.
Although we were blessed with good weather, one of our important rice planting machines broke down on the second day.
Rice planting techniques that focus on deliciousness
At Kimoto Farm, we are dedicated to producing delicious rice.
We employ various techniques in rice planting. The fields at Kimoto Farm are not uniform in shape, so we cannot simply plant in straight lines. We set the seedlings in the rice planting machine and adjust to plant 15-16 seedlings per tan, carefully calculating to avoid wasting valuable seedlings.
After planting, we fill the fields with water, but on cold days, we fill them deeper to protect the rice from the cold.
Until harvest, we will continue to grow rice with love to make it even more delicious!

To provide enjoyment for our neighbors, we have opened a dahlia garden next to the factory and sell sake made from Minori no Hyakunenmai rice. We have also opened a lodging facility called 'KIMOTO House' in a previously vacant house. We are engaged in various activities with local residents.
