For the fiscal year ended March 2019 (April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019),Consolidatedresults were as follows.
Compared to the downward revision announced in October last year,Net saleswas in line with expectations, but operating income was 105 million yen lower than expected due to lower yields in the Japan and U.S. manufacturing divisions and an increase in test operations.
Net profit reached 292 million yen due to gains from the sale of investment securities.
Is there a tomorrow for KIMOTO?
The Data Kitchen business aimed to double its sales budget (compared to the previous year), but unfortunately, it did not meet the budget.
However, we identified areas for improvement that contributed to this, and from this term, we have started the Digital Twin Division, which integrates technology and sales.
It will take some time, but please look forward to it.
Since its launch in October 2017,COMPACT COATERin the U.S. has increased its uptime and received more orders in less than two years.
However, new manufacturing challenges were discovered in new orders, significantly reducing yield.
Currently, we are working on improving yield, and the number of ongoing negotiations is increasing, which is promising for the future.
In the film business, sales activities to shift low-margin products to high-value-added products were delayed, resulting in a decrease in production in Japan compared to the previous term.
Sales and development continue to work and strive daily.
In light of the current situation in which economies around the world are facing unstable factors, we aim to increase profits in the fiscal year ending March 2020 byNet sales, which is the same as the previous fiscal year.
With the new era name 'Reiwa,' we believe that 2019, a milestone year, is also significant for the KIMOTO Group.
