Working from home is a little different than usual
Previously, we introduced it on the official KIMOTO Instagram, but this time, we will share a report from an employee who tried a slightly different form of remote work.
An eye-opener?!
It was a while ago, but I was working from home for about two weeks in September. Actually... I was doing it from Melbourne, Australia (laughs).
My husband was in Melbourne for three months for a company technical training. Everyone at the company said, 'Go to Melbourne, go check on your husband,' but I was hesitant because I had to take care of various work tasks before I could take time off... That's when I heard a voice from heaven!
You should work from home
Oh, I see! I can just work from home!!
So I stayed in Melbourne for about two weeks.
Experience “anywhere” in real life!
During my stay in Melbourne, I visited TAYLORS—the company with which we formed a business partnership in April 2017—and also dropped by Bill’s home at the KIMOTO Australia office, thoroughly enjoying both business and leisure through sightseeing on my days off.
It was a peculiar feeling—web meetings, emails, and phone calls were just as they are in Japan, allowing me to work without any inconvenience. I hardly ever felt that I was actually in Melbourne, except on my days off. (Really)
If I get the chance, I'd like to try working from home overseas again!
