Auditor Interview Mitsunori Maruyama
AuditorPlease tell us about your aspirations for your appointment.
Auditorhas a rigid image of being a "checker," but I would like to change that image as much as possible Thailand possible.
For example, we are currently advancing company reforms, and in the process, we may discover new challenges. At such times, I want to prioritize listening to the employees and using their input to move in a better direction. Sometimes, I would like to have frank conversations to build trust with everyone and take on the mission of corporate governance.
What is the most memorable thing about your work so far?
The most memorable project is the launch of 'Prosave™'. At that time, it was progressing as a project within the technical headquarters rather than the entire company, with members from manufacturing, development, and sales coming together with the goal of promoting adhesive products.
Actually, I am the one who named 'Prosave™'. Working with members who gathered across departmental boundaries, from planning to sales, through trial and error, was a valuable and meaningful experience as an engineer.
What kind of person were you when you first joined KIMOTO?
I joined the company with the desire to develop products no matter what and to develop new products as soon as possible. However, when I actually found myself in the development field, the work conversations seemed like cryptic codes, and even when I received development requests, I was in a state of asking my seniors, 'What should we do with this?' (laughs).
I realized the necessity of studying, but at that time, the internet was not yet widespread. I would rummage through materials in lockers, ask seniors whenever I didn't understand something, and order samples from the factory. I gathered information from all directions and gradually came to understand products and materials.
Please tell us about your expectations for KIMOTO and future challenges.
In order to cope with the rapid changes of the times, it is important for each individual to have various ideas and freely exchange opinions, and to move forward in the direction of 'This is good!'
KIMOTO, which has continued its business as a technology development-oriented company, has a history and cultivated core technologies. By valuing the base technologies, equipment, and long years of experience and know-how, and refining them in line with societal changes, I believe it is possible to continue as a '100-year company'.
