KIMOTO Workflow Reform vol.22
Striving to Become a 100-Year-Old Enterprise, We are Advancing Workflow Reform.
Why the general shareholders meeting was held in May
We will inform you about the efforts to expedite the holding of the general meeting of shareholders.
Aim for May!
When we started our workflow reform 12 years ago, the person in charge of finance and accounting worked non-stop every year during GW to process the settlement of accounts, dragging out the previous year's processing for three months to start a new fiscal year.
By advancing the general meeting of shareholders, which was held at the end of June every year, we aimed to start the new fiscal year earlier and quickly convey the latest information about KIMOTO to our shareholders. Therefore, we set the early holding of the general meeting of shareholders as one of the goals of our workflow reform.
Break away from outdated workflows
To advance the general meeting of shareholders, it is necessary to bring forward the settlement of accounts. Therefore, we proceeded with a fundamental reform with the mindset of discarding the previous workflow. We reviewed the workflow from scratch, strengthened internal communication through 'visualization,' established a virtual environment where work can be done from anywhere, and achieved operational efficiency by automating manual and routine tasks (RPA). Additionally, we created a new system for remote audits to ensure smooth auditing.
Early realization!!
By advancing the reforms from multiple angles, we were finally able to hold the general meeting of shareholders, which was held at the end of June every year, one month earlier on May 28 this fiscal year.
Only 2 companies (out of 2,314) with a fiscal year ending in March were able to hold their shareholders' meetings in May. When we first started the workflow reform, it was difficult to even move the shareholders' meeting up by a week, but the ability to expedite it was the result of 12 years of ongoing workflow reform. It has also become a source of confidence for us.
Going forward, we will continue to innovate and build a system that can flexibly respond to the rapid changes in the world.
