Blacker, thinner—pursuing technology that blocks light.
"CARBONFEATHER™" was commercialized in 1989 for use in camera aperture blades. At that time, metal shutter blades were used, but with the advent of digital cameras after 2000 and the push for lighter components, metal blades were replaced by film, and "CARBONFEATHER™" began to be used.
Subsequently, the widespread adoption of cameras in mobile phones exceeded expectations, leading to increased demands for light-shielding and thinner films. Around 2010, the explosive growth of smartphones made their bodies even more compact and thin, and further improvements in camera image quality required even greater light-shielding and thinness.
"CARBONFEATHER™" has evolved through continuous research and development alongside advances in camera technology, achieving industry-leading thinness thanks to our proprietary coating expertise. Today, it is used in a wide range of applications, including security surveillance cameras, drones, advanced medical fields, and automotive uses.
