KIMOTO Workflow Reform vol.18
Striving to Become a 100-Year-Old Enterprise, We are Advancing Workflow Reform.
Freely select your place of work
Ten years since the start of workflow reform, we share how our way of working has become more flexible.
No need to transfer!?
We choose our work locations based on our lifestyle and job, and the concept of transfers has disappeared.
In the past, it was common to change work locations according to company needs, such as personnel transfers and branch consolidations, and there were times when employees had to resign because they couldn't transfer.
One of the workflow reforms we have promoted is BYOD. This became possible with the introduction of virtual systems, free seating, and a telecommuting environment. In 2014, we reorganized our branches nationwide into satellite offices, allowing us to collaborate on tasks that were previously handled by individual branches across the entire KIMOTO. This enabled us to work the same way in any office, eliminating the need for transfers and allowing us to choose our work locations.
People-centered working styles
Not only do employees choose telecommuting for childcare or caregiving, but they can also balance home and work even in regions without KIMOTO offices or when family members are transferred. Some employees say, 'If it weren't for the workflow reform, I might have had to quit the company or be separated from my family!' Additionally, employees who moved from Tokyo to their hometowns to prioritize time with parents and family while raising children say, 'I enjoy having meals and playing with my parents and relatives on weekends!' They continue to work as usual even after changing their work locations.
We have achieved a sustainable way of working centered on people. We will continue to aim to be a company that grows together with people, valuing diverse perspectives.
