"work remotely”
This time, I will talk about 'remote work,' which has significantly changed our workflow.
My child has a fever, and I have unfinished work so I can't take a day off... Oh, I remembered I can work from home!
In April 2014, with a BYOD environment, anyone could start working from home. The way of working, which until then had been taken for granted as commuting to the office, underwent a significant change.
Remote work can be done at any time with prior notification by the day before and emails at the start and end of work. There are no limits on the number of times or duration, and of course, no reason is required. By not creating a specific eligibility criteria, 'it has become easier to take advantage of remote work!' and staff with childcare responsibilities are making great use of it.
*BYOD: Stands for 'Bring Your Own Device,' which means using personal devices (such as computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.) for work at the office or home.
"The main office" can't be used as an office!?
The photo is of the main office in Shinjuku. Normally, it's a place where members from various departments work, but occasionally it transforms into an event venue. Sometimes it becomes a venue for financial results briefings, and other times for seminars, and of course, during those times, all PCs and such are removed, and it cannot be used as an office.
What, even though it's the main office, work doesn't come to a halt?!
Many are surprised by this. Since the environment for daily work is on the cloud, it can be accessed from anywhere. Calls to the office can be handled by other offices or mobile phones, so members who usually base themselves in the main office decide for themselves where to work, whether it's working from home or going to another office. It's a bit strange that the office can't be used, isn't it? (laughs)
Next time, I will talk about vol.9 'Flextime'.
