The standard for KIMOTO Window Films! High transparency shatterproof film

Glasstect™ ( Glasstect™) 50Li is the most standard type of inner adhesive film for glass in the series. It is a low-iris type window film that has both glass shatter-proof and ultraviolet ray-blocking functions, and when applied to window glass, it blocks ultraviolet rays and has the effect of preventing fading and deterioration of indoor decorations. In addition, it is ideal for places where you want to suppress the iris caused by fluorescent lights and ensure visibility.

Applications

Windows for schools, childcare facilities, etc.

Partition glass, partitions

Housing equipment for building materials

Glass doors (offices, stores, etc.)

On the surface of glass with a film applied, a phenomenon called iridescence, where multiple colors appear like a rainbow, can occur. This happens because the structure of the film consists of many thin layers overlapping.
Window film is broadly divided into a three-layer structure consisting of an adhesive layer, a PET film base material, and a hard coat layer. Although the hard coat layer is uniformly applied, there are subtle differences in thickness at the nanoscale not visible to the eye. These slight differences in thickness cause changes in the wavelength of reflected light, resulting in the iridescence phenomenon that is visible to the human eye.

Through KIMOTO's unique process, reflection unevenness is reduced, and iridescence is suppressed.

KIMOTO's window film reduces iridescence by adjusting the balance between the thickness and thinness of the film, thereby gently moderating reflections. This helps to suppress the noticeable reflection unevenness (iridescence) when using daylight (tri-phosphor) fluorescent lights.

Simply applying it cuts 99% of ultraviolet rays from outside. It prevents the intrusion of ultraviolet rays indoors, protecting furniture, flooring, curtains, and other interior items from deterioration and fading.

UV rays can also penetrate through window glass.
Ultraviolet rays are very familiar to us. They are necessary for synthesizing vitamin D in the skin, which plays a crucial role in metabolizing calcium. However, excessive exposure can cause sunburn, wrinkles, spots, and over the years, may lead to benign/malignant tumors and cataracts.

Compliant with JIS standards, it delivers peace of mind and safety with its excellent shatter-resistant performance.

During major disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons, not only building collapses but also the scattering of glass fragments due to strong impacts can significantly delay evacuation from the affected areas. Shatterproof film reduces secondary damage caused by dangerous glass fragments.

It meets the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS A5759’s 'Shotback Test' and 'Interlayer Displacement Test'), preventing glass shattering even in unexpected circumstances and ensuring the safety of its surroundings.

About disclaimer

If applied in non-standard environments (such as high temperature, high humidity, or wet areas), unexpected malfunctions may occur, and the durability of the film may significantly decrease.
