Striving to Become a 100-Year-Old Enterprise, We are Advancing Workflow Reform.
Factory work style reform
We would like to tell you about the working style ofMie Plantemployees, which is KIMOTO's main factory.
Returning to work after four years
I work at KIMOTO's main production facility, the Mie Plant. After taking maternity and childcare leave for my two children, I felt anxious about whether I could balance childcare and work as I returned to the workplace after four years,
returning to the workplace.
What? There's no one in the office?
The first thing that surprised me upon returning to work was the absence of people in the office. While I was away, the factory had downsized its office, and the working style had significantly changed to hybrid work for employees not working on the manufacturing floor.
After my return, I ended up working from home instead of at the plant.
At first, I had some anxieties, but I manage my work progress and report on the situation while communicating with colleagues and superiors through online meetings and chat. Also, when necessary, I go to the plant to check on the situation on-site and meet colleagues in person.
Hybrid work is a working style that combines remote work, including working from home, with office work where you go to the office.
Even factory workers can work remotely!
Even though I work in a factory remote work Many might think it's impossible, but at KIMOTO, we approached remote work with an attitude of 'not can't do, but let's try.' We were able to switch to remote work by promoting a change in mindset from the conventional work style of going to the office or site, creating a system that does not compromise the efficiency or quality of work even in hybrid work.
A way of working that allows you to balance work and childcare
Remote work × Super Flex The ability to work anytime, anywhere greatly facilitates balancing childcare and work, which is a significant advantage. Of course, there are many challenges as a working mom after returning, such as sudden illnesses of children or work not progressing as expected, but above all, I feel that being able to create 'peace of mind' helps overcome these challenges.
KIMOTO continues to evolve towards a flexible working style in the factory as well, through the know-how of work style reforms and DX (Digital Transformation) that have been promoted so far.
Next time, I will tell you how we have promoted a change in mindset from the work style where going to work was the norm.
